วัด (wát) means 'temple', the most common religious building in Thailand. พระ (prá) is an honorific prefix for sacred things. แก้ว (kaêo) means 'crystal' or 'gem'. The full official name is วัดพระศรีรัตนศาสดาราม. Tourists just call it Wat Phra Kaeo.
